nfl logoGovernor of Delaware State, Jack Markell had a particular plan to legalize sports betting in the state. Governor took the plan to legislators and they revised it. After that, legislators sent it backward and forward across the aisle. And the final result was the Senate approved the proposed Bill on Tuesday. At this time, It is only required for this Bill to turn into law, the signature of the Governor who got the vision and plan in the first place. After his signature, sports betting to become an authorized activity in the state. Governor Markell is likely to sign that Bill before ending the legislative session.

In a statement, Markell said “I am very pleased that the Senate acted so quickly to pass the sports lottery legislation and I very much appreciate the leadership from both sides of the aisle.” He added “In particular, I want to thank Senator Deluca as the lead Senate sponsor and the leadership in the House of Representatives who came together to get us closer to our meeting budget challenges.”

The new sports betting Bill would not give the right gamblers the same lavishness that they could enjoy if the punters went to any Las Vegas sportsbook. The law will just authorize gambling under parlay bets. It rigorously provides the odds in Delaware’s favor. Parlay bets appear when a punter gets two or more games on any single wager. The punters have to win all teams what are picked to win the bet. Sports entities like the NCAA and NFL are lobbying strongly against the sports betting in the state. However, their labors have come up diminutive. The NFL is now planning to ask the judicial courts to hold up the Bill turn into law.

US Midwestern state Ohio has attempted several times to get voters to grant casino gambling though that was unproductive. Ohio’s lawmakers are now taking a different shot at it. The proposal is that they are going to offer a new revenue tax rate. And the rate is low in comparison to any other states in the country.

The proposal comes from the Ohio Jobs and Growth Plan in light of the current recession in the USA. The administration hopes that the new plan would create more jobs at a time when a lot of citizens in Ohio are losing their current employment. According to source, the new tax rate for revenue from gambling industry will just be 33%. Spokesman for the plan, Bob Tenenbaum said “The decision (on the tax rate) was not based on what other states were doing, but rather what was fair for Ohio. Fairness was the biggest factor in coming up with this proposal”.

On the other hand, Maryland (state) taxes casino revenue at the rate of massive 67% whereas Pennsylvania has just expanded the casino options. The current tax revenue here at 55%. A proponent of bringing casinos to Ohio Senator Bill Seitz said “It’s not necessarily the plan I would have written, but I don’t have millions of dollars to push the plan I would have written. Let me say that I was more enamored of the Learn and Earn proposal than I am of this one.” The recent plan has already an uphill battle in Ohio, with voters shooting down a number of proposals over the previous decade.

lasseters_online_casinoIt is hard time all over the world, even for online casinos. One of the first online casinos to take bets on the Web, Lasseters Online, has come to an end. Lasseters Corporation said it was no longer taking bets on its three casino websites, Lasseters Online, AusVegas, and Lasseters Euro.

Lasseters Online Casino has decided to close its doors for good after 8 years of operation. People in the online casino say that the closing of this website has been a long time coming; however it is still a shame to see such a famous online casino close its doors.

One of the biggest thorns in the side of Lasseters online was the unlawful online gambling enforcement act passing. Lasseters insiders blame the managing committee of the online casino and the general vision for the casino itself. The corporation who did not take as hard of a hit by losing the United State’s players business are flourishing in the European markets. In 2007, the online casino took a $15.5 million hit in revenue losses and was not willing to take the rescue from Lasseters International.

The decision was made to turn down the rescue because the prospect of the company looked harsh. As a result, Lasseters is no longer competitive on the Web and is closing its doors.
